How much does OSHC cost after the Child Care Subsidy?

The honest answer most families are looking for: at Amana OSHC, most families pay from $3.86 a session for after school care once the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is applied — not the full fee. The government covers up to 90% of the cost, and you only ever pay the small "gap" that's left.

Here's how that works, and how to estimate your own number.

The short version

• After school care: from $3.86 a session after CCS ($38.60 before the subsidy).
• Before school care: from $2.76 a session after CCS ($27.56 before the subsidy).
• The government pays up to 90% of your fees, directly to Amana. You're only billed the gap.

Why you shouldn't judge OSHC by the sticker price

The full, before-subsidy fee is the number you'll see on a fee schedule — but almost no family pays it. CCS is an Australian Government payment that reduces the cost of approved child care, and OSHC (out of school hours care) is included. Because Amana OSHC is a government-approved, CCS-approved provider, the subsidy is paid straight to us and simply lowers your invoice.

So the fair way to compare providers isn't the headline fee — it's the gap you'll actually pay after CCS.

What decides your gap fee

Three things:

1. Your family income. The subsidy tapers from 90% for families earning up to $85,279, reducing gradually as income rises.
2. The session fee (before CCS) for the sessions you book.
3. Your subsidised hours. From 5 January 2026, the 3 Day Guarantee gives eligible families at least 72 hours of subsidised care per fortnight — three days a week — with no activity test.

If you have more than one child aged 5 or under in care, a higher rate (up to 95%) can apply to younger children.

What's included in the fee
