What does halal OSHC actually mean?

For many Muslim families, "halal OSHC" is shorthand for a bigger hope: that the hours after the school bell feel like a natural continuation of home and school, not a departure from them. So what does it actually mean in day-to-day practice?

At Amana OSHC, it comes down to four things.

1. Halal food — every snack, every meal

All food served at Amana is strictly halal and prepared on-site by educators with safe food-handling training. Breakfast is served at before school care and afternoon tea at after school care, so parents don't need to pack food. Menus are on display, and dietary needs and allergies are accommodated — just let us know at enrolment.

2. Prayer built into the day

Every Amana centre has a dedicated prayer space with Wudu facilities, so children can pray Dhuhr and Asr comfortably and on time. Prayer isn't an add-on squeezed around activities — it's part of the rhythm of the afternoon.

3. Quran and Islamic learning as part of the program

Our Iqra Circle program weaves Quran reading and Islamic studies into daily activities, alongside sport, art, creativity and homework support. Children get the enrichment of a great after-school program and the continuity of their faith.

4. An environment that reflects your values

Every Amana centre operates inside an Islamic school, so your child stays somewhere familiar, with educators who understand and respect your family's values. Halal OSHC and quality aren't a trade-off

Choosing care that reflects your faith shouldn't mean compromising on standards. Amana is a government-approved, CCS-approved provider, regulated under the National Quality Framework, with a 1:12 educator-to-child ratio (better than the 1:15 mandate), Working With Children–checked educators, and first-aid-trained senior staff.
