Where Every Child's Journey Begins with Care

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is the primary government assistance in Australia designed to help families cover childcare costs. The subsidy amount you receive depends on your family circumstances and income, which can cover up to 90% of your childcare fees.

Making quality care more affordable for families

With CCS, more families can access quality programmes such as our Rise and Shine Club morning programme, Amana Afternoons after school programme, and our Holiday Quest school holiday programmes at a very affordable rate.

The subsidy is paid directly to Amana OSHC, reducing the fees you pay out of pocket.

The amount of subsidy you receive depends on:
Your combined family income
The type of care you use (Before/After School or Holiday Programmes)
The hours of recognised activity you and your partner do
Whether your programme fees are above or below the hourly rate cap

Family scenario 1

Maximum CCS Rate

Sarah has one child, Yusuf, who attends Amana OSHC 3 days a week. Her combined family income is $75,000, where Sarah works full-time. Yusuf will get the maximum standard CCS rate of 90%. This is because they are the only CCS eligible child in child care and the family income is under $85,279.

Family scenario 2

Below Maximum CCS Rate

Ahmed and Fatima have one child, Amira aged 9, who attends Amana OSHC 2 days a week. Fatima works full-time while Ahmed works part-time. Their combined family income is $130,000. As the maximum standard CCS rate of 90% goes down by 1% for every $5,000 of income earned above $85,279, Ahmed and Fatima will get a CCS rate of 81% for Amira.

The "3 Day Guarantee"

From 5 January 2026, all CCS eligible families will receive a minimum of 72 subsidised hours of childcare per fortnight, regardless of the family's hours of recognised activity.

For OSHC, this is approximately 6 days of Holiday Quest per fortnight and stretches even further for term-time sessions - Rise and Shine Club and Amana Afternoons!

Questions? We are here to help.

Q1: How will the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) be paid?+
CCS is paid directly to Amana OSHC so families only pay the difference between the subsidy and fee charged. This ensures there are no additional out of pocket fees. You will need to complete an assessment for CCS before each child starts attending care.
Q2: What is a Complying Written Agreement (CWA)?+
A CWA is an ongoing agreement between an Early Childhood Education Centre (ECEC) service provider and a Parent/Guardian to provide care in return for fees. A CWA is a legislative requirement and must be in place before any sessions of care can be provided and CCS can be claimed. At Amana OSHC, this is completed as part of your enrolment process.
Q3: I have not completed my myGov assessment for CCS, will I be charged full fees?+
Yes. You must complete your myGov assessment to access CCS entitlements. If you have an incomplete assessment please ensure that you:

1. Link your Centrelink account with your myGov account
2. Provide the correct Customer Registration Number (CRN) and date of birth for both you and your child
3. Ensure the correct parent/guardian is the account holder
Q4: I have been charged full fees, can this be refunded when I have completed my CCS eligibility through myGov?+
If eligible, we may be able to backdate your subsidy for up to 28 days. Any entitled fee changes will be applied and shown on your statement of entitlement.
Q5: My Complying Written Agreement (CWA) has a Pending status. What do I need to do?+
If your CWA status is Pending, it means it has not been confirmed yet. Please contact our team at Amana OSHC and we will help you get it sorted. You may need to confirm your enrolment details through your myGov account.
Q6: What happens if my family circumstances change?+
If your family circumstances change (e.g., income, activity hours, or number of children in care), your CCS rate may be adjusted. It is important to update your details through your myGov account as soon as possible to avoid any overpayments or underpayments.
